Hotel Sherpa Soul was founded by a local family with roots in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal—the legendary homeland of Mount Everest. For generations, the Sherpa people have been celebrated worldwide for their strength, quiet resilience, and profound tradition of hospitality to travelers passing through high mountain passes.
We created Hotel Sherpa Soul to bring that authentic spirit down into Kathmandu: providing an unpretentious, warm, and thoroughly restful haven where travelers from all over the world can recharge between adventures.

Kathmandu is one of Asia's most exciting cities, filled with ancient temples, bustling markets, and mountain energy. But after a full day of sightseeing or a 15-day trek along the Annapurna Circuit, what travelers need most is quiet, deep, restorative sleep.
Many hotels in Thamel feature loud ground-floor bars, sports lounges, or rooftop nightclubs that blast music past midnight. We made a conscious, deliberate choice to do the opposite: we operate no noisy public bar or commercial restaurant inside our hotel. Instead, our rooms remain peacefully insulated from party and traffic sounds, while our shared rooftop kitchen allows guests to brew their own morning tea and prepare healthy meals at leisure.
